    NOTICE TO TAXPAYERS REGARDING DETERMINATION TO ISSUE BONDS OF THE CLAY COMMUNITY SCHOOLS, CLAY/PARKE COUNTIES, INDIANA

    The taxpayers of the Clay Community Schools, Clay/Parke Counties, Indiana (the “School Corporation”), are hereby notified that on February 13, 2025, the Board of School Trustees of the School Corporation (the “Board”) adopted a resolution that determined that the School Corporation will issue general obligation bonds of the School Corporation, payable out of ad valorem property taxes collected by the School Corporation on all taxable property within the geographical boundaries of the School Corporation, to be designated “Clay Community Schools, Clay/Parke Counties, Indiana, General Obligation Bonds, Series 2025” in an original aggregate principal amount not to exceed Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000), with a final maturity ending no later than January 15, 2034, and bearing interest at a rate or rates not exceeding five percent (5.00%), the exact rate or rates to be determined by bidding or negotiation (the “2025 General Obligation Bonds”).  The proceeds of the 2025 General Obligation Bonds will be used to pay for all or a portion of (1) undertaking facility improvement, upgrading and long-term maintenance projects at one or more of the existing facilities operated by the School Corporation, including, but not limited to, all or any portion of (a) the renovation, repair and/or update to all or any portion of the heating and air conditioning system at all or any of the existing facilities operated by the School Corporation, including, but not limited to, all or any of the existing Clay City High School, North Clay Middle School, Clay City Elementary School, Forest Park Elementary School and Van Buren Elementary School, (b) the restoration, replacement and/or repair of all or any portion of the roofing system at all or any portion of all or any of the existing facilities operated by the School Corporation, including, but not limited to, the existing Jackson Township Elementary School, (c) the repair and/or replacement of all or any portion of the floor covering or flooring at all or any portion of all or any of the existing facilities operated by the School Corporation, including, but not limited to, the existing Northview High School, and (d) the restoration and/or repair and update of all or any portion of the parking lots and driving lanes on all or any portion of the sites on which any of the existing facilities operated by the School Corporation are located, (2) acquiring and/or installing technology equipment for use by the School Corporation in one or more of the existing facilities operated by the School Corporation or in connection with its operations, (3) acquiring and/or installing kitchen equipment in one or more of the existing facilities operated by the School Corporation, (4) undertaking miscellaneous facility improvement and/or equipping projects at one or more of the facilities operated by the School Corporation or in connection with the operations of the School Corporation, and (5) undertaking any projects related to any of the projects listed in clauses (1) through and including (4).
