• FMLA vs Medical Leave

One of the frequently asked questions by employees is the difference between FMLA and a Medical Leave.  The largest difference between the two are that there are two qualifying criteria for FMLA that are usually not met to qualify, and thus, a Medical Leave is used.  Those qualifying criteria are that an employee has NOT either (A) worked for Clay Community Schools for at least 12 months, or (B) has not worked at least 1,250 hours in the previous 12 months.  Please see accompanying documents for a full explanation of what type of leave best applies to your situation.
